The Ghanaian player who played a good world cup in South Africa, arrived to the Werkself in 2007 from Vfl Wolfsburg, and has since then played 42 Bundesliga games with Leverkusen. “Every player would be happy to play at a big club like Schalke. I am looking forward to this new chapter.” said Sarpei in a press statement.

Castro, Schwaab, Hyypiä, Reinartz, M.Friedrich, Vida and Kadlec
Balitsch could also play in defense, he is an all-rounder. But I would like to see Bayer 04 purchase a young central defender or an experienced free agent before the transfer window closes, that way we would have a perfect balance in defense:

You can argue whether Vida can play as centre-back, in the Pre-Season he has often played as right-back. He is also not very tall, Heynckes prefers big players in the centre.
