Germany achieved the qualification for the UEFA EURO 2012 with a comfortable 6-2 home victory against Austria. André Schürrle entered the field in the 73rd minute to score shortly after the 5th goal for Germany.  Simon Rolfes saw the entire match from the bench.  However in the following friendly against Poland he was amongst 11 starters.  Rolfes played 77 minutes and was replaced by Lars Bender, who was called up the day earlier.

Defender Danny da Costa was called up for Germany’s U-19, who won 5-3 against Belgium in Verviers and drew 2-2 against the Netherlands at the Franz Kremer Stadium in Cologne.

Michal Kadlec played twice for the Czech Republic this week.  First in the 2-2 euro qualifier draw against Scotland, converting a penalty in the last minute and in a 4-0 victory against Ukraine, where he managed to score two goals.

Eren Derdiyok was also involved in the qualifiers with Switzerland who played against Bulgaria in Basel. It ended with a 3-1 victory for the hosts.
